It is mandatory for all US public companies to adhere to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) introduced in the country in July 2002. Indians-Red Sox Preview
The Boston Red Sox can head into A series with their rivals carrying some momentum, and having Daisuke Matsuzaka on the mound against the Cleveland Indians might help.

Matsuzaka will try to earn his third straight win and help the Red Sox split their four-game set against the visiting Indians on Thursday night.

The Red Sox (61-47) trail Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees by 6 1/2 games for the AL East lead and the wild card. They could make up ground in one or both of those races in a four-game series at Yankee Stadium beginning Friday night.

First, Boston would like to finish a seven-game homestand in positive fashion, and Matsuzaka (7-3, 4.22 ERA) might be the right man to make it happen.

The right-hander is 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA in his last three starts against the Indians, including a 4-1 win June 7 in which he gave up four hits over eight scoreless innings. He's 2-0 with a 2.92 ERA in his last four outings overall but was a little shaky in his most recent start.

Matsuzaka allowed four runs and seven hits over six innings Saturday against Detroit, but he avoided a loss when the Red Sox rallied for a 5-4 win.

David Ortiz had the walk-off hit in that victory, and he extended his hitting streak to 13 games -- his longest in three years -- with a solo homer Tuesday night. However, Boston fell 9-1 for just its third loss in nine games.

The Red Sox, batting .304 in their previous eight contests, were held to six hits and Jacoby Ellsbury went 0 for 4 in his return after missing two-plus months with fractured ribs.

"Certainly we're going to try to manage his workload before the game. That is the big thing," manager Terry Francona told the team's official website. "I'm excited for him just to be in the lineup."

The Indians (46-62), meanwhile, won for the fourth time in five games with their best scoring output since July 19. Andy Marte had a three-run homer and Jayson Nix added a two-run shot.

"A lot of (the players) are happy to be here and see the ballpark and all that," manager Manny Acta said. "They've got an opportunity to impress us over the next two months."

Rookie right-hander Josh Tomlin (1-0, 1.46) will try to help the Indians to their first series win over the Red Sox in four years and first in Boston in five years.

Tomlin won his Major League debut against the New York Yankees on July 27, then allowed one run and four hits over 5 1/3 innings in a 2-1 victory at Toronto on Saturday.

"He doesn't have overpowering stuff, but there's a place for a guy like him in this game because he throws strikes, mixes his pitches very well and is very poised," Acta said.

The Indians' last series win over the Red Sox was April 25-27, 2006, and their most recent in Boston came June 27-29, 2005.

The NFL Sunday Ticket Gives You Access to All the Rookies in the NFL

The National Football League's 2010 Draft took place this past week in New York City, with many calling it either the Big Twelve Draft or more specifically the Oklahoma Draft. All of the top four and five of the top six picks came from the Big Twelve Conference. Three of those top four came from the University of Oklahoma, including the number one Draft Pick Sam Bradford to the St. Louis Rams. It was the best first round draft for A single conference in draft history, based on number of picks alone.

The Big Twelve conference includes a few easily recognizable football universities followed by a number of schools with highly competitive football programs. It is a difficult conference from top to bottom. The University of Oklahoma, The University of Texas, and The University of Nebraska all have rich football traditions. They each claim multiple national championships, Oklahoma with the most at seven (though more unofficially), and conference championships. They bring in the most money into the conference and the have historically provided the most talent to the NFL draft from the conference.

It was no different in this year's draft. However, along with the top football programs in the conference, Oklahoma State University notably provided two of the first round draft picks. In the end, it was the first time in draft history for one conference to be represented by the first four draft picks. It was also the first time the Big Twelve conference had nine players drafted in the first round. The number one draft pick was Sam Bradford, quarterback at Oklahoma. He will put on the St. Louis Rams jersey next season. It was the first time a player from the Big Twelve was selected number one, yet it was all but formality this year. His name had been connected with the St. Louis front office for days prior to the draft, making it hardly a surprise when his name was finally announced in Radio City Music Hall.

The University of Oklahoma did not stop there. Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was chosen third by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Trent Williams, Oklahoma's offensive tackle, was picked up by the Washington Redskins at number four. A fourth OU player, tight end Jermaine Gresham, was taken 21st by the Cincinnati Bengals. It was the first time in OU school history to have four first round picks, another record.  

Not to give any slight to Ndamukong Suh, defensive tackle from Nebraska. He went to the Detroit Lions at the number two slot, and could easily have gone number one had any number of teams other than St. Louis had the top pick. He was widely considered the best talent in the draft. Although high skilled himself, Bradford offered a specific skill that the Rams desperately needed. After failing to pick two big-name quarterbacks in the past two NFL drafts that were still available when the Rams had picks, the team's fan base was clamoring for the front office to finally pick up a star quarterback. Those two quarterbacks have since gone on to lead their teams to turnarounds seasons and postseason success.

Rounding out the top six was Russell Okung, offensive tackle from Oklahoma State University. He was picked up sixth by the Seatle Seahawks. Also from OSU in the first round was highly-touted wide receiver Dez Bryant at number 24 to the Dallas Cowboys. With his skill, this was a steal of a pick for the Cowboys.

Texas and Missouri rounded out the first round picks for the Big 12 Conference with defensive back Earl Thomas going to Seattle at number 14 and linebacker Sean Witherspoon going to the Atlanta Hawks at number 19, respectively.
